Position Description

The University of Pittsburgh Athletic Department is seeking a qualified Diving Coach. The responsibilities include planning, organizing and leading a highly competitive Division I men’s and women’s diving program. The individual is expected to be able to develop and implement daily, weekly and seasonal training plans, a complementary diving specific dryland program – working in conjunction with the department’s strength & conditioning staff. The individual will be responsible for developing and implementing a successful domestic and international recruiting plan.

Responsibilities also include assisting the Head Swimming & Diving coach in the following areas:
-Ensuring all relevant institutional, Athletic Department, ACC, and NCAA rules and regulations are followed including but not limited to; eligibility, recruiting, financial aid, scheduling and academic progress.
-Promoting a positive environment to encourage student-athletes to strive for academic and athletic excellence.
-Assist in preparing and planning home meet operations and travel meet plans.
-Encourage and ensure the safety and well-being of the student athletes.

The following PA Act 153 clearances and background checks may be required prior to commencement of employment and as a condition of continued employment: PA State Police Criminal Record Check, FBI Criminal Record Check, PA Child Abuse History Clearance.
