Position Description

The Department of Psychology at the University of Pittsburgh is seeking a qualified Family Interventionist. This is a full-time position that will serve on an intervention project aimed at promoting self-regulation skills and school readiness among at-risk, low-income infants and their mothers. Duties will include learning and applying the Family Check-Up, an evidence-based parenting intervention that incorporates motivational interviewing and family management training. The individual would have a caseload of approximately 8-10 families each week. Will also be responsible for attending supervision and staff meetings, as well as coordinating appointment scheduling.

Three years of experience in field of social work and/or psychology. Background in family therapy involving at-risk children strongly preferred.

Child Protection Clearances

The following PA Act 153 clearances and background checks may be required prior to commencement of employment and as a condition of continued employment: PA State Police Criminal Record Check, FBI Criminal Record Check, PA Child Abuse History Clearance.
