Job Summary

The University of Pittsburgh is seeking a student employee to act as a Peer Tutor for the Writing Center. The applicant will tutor undergraduate and graduate students at the University of Pittsburgh’s Writing Center; keep records on tutorials; attend several monthly staff meetings; participate in professional development discussions as required; and possibly write newsletter articles or social media posts for the Writing Center.

Job Requirements

Eligible candidates have satisfactorily completed ENGCMP 1210 Tutoring Peer Writers and ENGCMP 1901 Teaching and Tutoring Writing.

Child Protection Clearances

The following PA Act 153 clearances and background checks may be required prior to commencement of employment and as a condition of continued employment: PA State Police Criminal Record Check, FBI Criminal Record Check, PA Child Abuse History Clearance.
