Position Description

The Laboratory Assistant will assume responsibilities over laboratory aspects of several internal and multi-center projects (Including clinical trials within Neurotrauma Clinical trials Center) under the immediate supervision of Ava Puccio, Ph.D., including:

- managing and assisting in 24/7 clinical sample collection for the Brain Trauma Research Center

- database management of sample collection

- storage and distribution

- database entry

- ordering of supplies

Incumbent will also manage the influx and outflux of a biorepository for 11 US sites for a spectrum of traumatic brain injury patients, including accepting, cataloging, processing and storage of biomarkers and genetic samples.

Additional Education and/or Experience Essential to the Position

Minimum requirement is a Bachelors degree in a biology, chemistry or neuroscience field, plus at least 2-3 years of professional level research experience.

The following PA Act 153 clearances and background checks may be required prior to commencement of employment and as a condition of continued employment: PA State Police Criminal Record Check, FBI Criminal Record Check, PA Child Abuse History Clearance.
