A non-tenured stream position is available immediately in the laboratories of Drs. Neal and Zuckerbraun, in the Department of Surgery, Division of Research. The laboratory research is focused on mechanisms of organ failure, platelet dysfunction, and coagulopathy following trauma and sepsis. The outstanding applicant will work closely with the PIs to develop research goals but will be expected to function independently, including mentoring of fellows, staff supervision, oversee daily operations, prepare IRB and IACUC applications and assist with manuscript preparations.
Qualifications: Candidates should possess a PhD or MD/PhD in cell biology or relevant field. The ideal candidate will possess experience in platelet biology, molecular biology, multicolor flow cytometry, assay development and data analysis. Experience with murine models of trauma and sepsis and/or experience in the study of coagulopathy would be considered a substantial benefit. Applicants should have a command of the English language and evidence of good writing skills and interpersonal skills.
