The Research Review Analyst – Full Board (RRA – FB) works as part of a multi-disciplinary team, under the auspices of the University of Pittsburgh Institutional Review Board. The Research Review Analyst – Full Board is responsible for maintaining a current working knowledge of federal and state regulations pertaining to the responsible conduct of human subjects research, along with ensuring compliance with University of Pittsburgh policies and procedures.
The Research Review Analyst – Full Board will conduct a thorough review of full board studies, and will complete all necessary documentation in the online submission database. When appropriate, the RRA-FB may facilitate discussions at full board meetings or participate as a board member to ensure that risks to human subjects are minimized, while ensuring that research is conducted in compliance with federal and state regulations and University of Pittsburgh policies and procedures.
As part of a service-oriented, outreach program, the RRA-FB will provide consultation and training to members of the research community at large via telephone or through face-to-face meetings.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential for this position, as the RRA-FB must personally and electronically communicate with members of the research community on a regular basis.
Due to the nature of full board studies, the Research Review Analyst – Full Board will need to be an RN or hold a BSN or MSN degree.
|Minimum Related Experience Level Required||5-6 years experience|
|Additional Education and/or Experience Essential to the Position||
Master’s Degree in Nursing with current licensure (RN) preferred. Extensive experience in research along with a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing may be substituted for a Master’s Degree. Must possess a detailed working knowledge of research science, medical procedures and medical terminology.
|Child Protection Clearances||
The following PA Act 153 clearances and background checks may be required prior to commencement of employment and as a condition of continued employment: PA State Police Criminal Record Check, FBI Criminal Record Check, PA Child Abuse History Clearance.
