Position Details

The Department of Pathology at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine is recruiting for a Clinical Cytogeneticist to direct the Pittsburgh Cytogenetics Laboratory (http://pittgenetics.com). The candidate for the position will enter at the Associate/ Professor level (tenure/non-tenure track) at Magee-Womens Hospital of UPMC, the site of the Pittsburgh Cytogenetics Laboratory and Center for Medical Genetics and Genomics. The Director will be in charge of an academic cytogenetics laboratory that performs over 16,000 assays a year, and offers cytogenetic, microarray and FISH testing covering pre-implantation, prenatal, pediatric and adult populations as well as neoplastic disorders. Th; Director will closely interact with the Molecular & Genomic Pathology Laboratory at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, and will participate in the education of Pathology and Ob/Gyn residents, as well as training of future fellows through the ABMGG certified programs. Board certification by the American Board of Medical Genetics and Genomics is required.

Magee-Womens Hospital of UPMC is the site for the Center for Medical Genetics and Genomics that provides direct patient care in prenatal, adult, pediatric and cancer genetics.
