The Division of Nephrology at the Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh and the Department of Pediatrics, University of Pittsburgh is recruiting a PhD for an entry level faculty position in the non-tenure track. The ideal candidate for this position would be a PhD that has completed postdoctoral training in top-notch laboratories focused on douwnstream signaling in receptor tyrosine kinases. The candidate should have a research program focused on the role of fibroblast growth factor receptor and fibroblast growth factor receptor substrate 2 alpha signaling in nephron progenitors and in nephron-derived tubular oystogenesis. The candidate should have experience with mouse and cell based techniques focused on nephron progenitors, nephron development and renal cystogenesis. The candidate should have a record indicating strong potential for academic productivity and further extramural funding.

The Division of Nephrology at the University of Pittsburgh has 5 faculty engaged in high quality NIH and foundation-supported research, making it one of the best-funded pediatric nephrology programs in the country. The Department of Pediatrics at the University of Pittsburgh ranks among the top 10 free standing children’s hospitals in total and NIH-sponsored research funding.
