Position Details

The Department of Hispanic Languages and Literatures at the University of Pittsburgh is searching for a tenure-track assistant professor with a specialty in Latin American (Spanish American and Brazilian) visual culture and media (including cinema), pending budgetary approval. Native or near-native Spanish and English required. Ability to teach courses at the graduate and undergraduate levels, including surveys of Spanish and Spanish American literature, and occasional graduate courses on modern Iberian literature and culture; knowledge of Mexican literature and culture also desirable. Knowledge of Portuguese and Luso-Brazilian literature and culture desirable. PhD required at the time of appointment. Evidence of scholarly potential and teaching excellence required.
